Step 1
Plant seeds in the old ice cube tray. It’s best to make a small hole in the bottom of each individual ice cube section for excess water to drain out, and then you can add some soil to the tray. After adding the soil, add the seed and a small amount of water. This is a great way to start off some new veggies for your garden.
-
Step 2
Place cookie dough in the ice cube tray slots. Depending on the size of the ice cube tray, it’s probably a pretty good size for holding cookie dough. You can place the cookie dough in the tray, and then refrigerate the entire tray until you are ready to bake some fresh cookies.
-
Step 3
Place paint samples in each of the ice cube slots. If you want to paint your wall, but you are not sure what color to paint it, or you want to paint it multiple colors, then this will be perfect. You can probably fit 20 or more different paint samples in one single ice cube tray.
-
Step 4
Organize your spare change in each of the different slots. You could use some of the ice cube tray slots to put quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies in. Alternatively, you could place coins from one certain year in each different slot.
-
Step 5
Place your sewing materials in the ice cube tray slots. If you are big into crafts, you likely have a lot of small buttons, pins, or other materials that you want to find a safe home for. An ice cube tray is great for sorting these things because you can carry the tray and everything travels with you.
