How to Make a Black Bottom Pecan Pie

This twist to an old time favorite adds life to the ordinary pecan pie. Surprise them at the holidays. Great for pecan and chocolate lovers of all kinds!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Measure and gather the pie ingredients:
    2 eggs
    3/4 corn syrup
    1/2 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted
    1 tablespoon of butter, melted
    1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
    1/4 cup of sugar
    1/4 teaspoon of salt
    1 cup of pecan halves
    1/2 cup of sweetened flaked coconut, toasted
    1 graham cracker pie crust, 9-inch, chocolate

  2. Step 2

    Preheat an oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

  3. Step 3

    Mix the eggs, corn syrup, melted chocolate chips, butter vanilla, sugar and salt together in a medium size mixing bowl. Blend well.

  4. Step 4

    Fold in the coconut and pecans. Make sure it is evenly dispurst

  5. Step 5

    Put the mixture into the pie crust evenly.

  6. Step 6

    Bake for 40 to 45 minutes. When the pie is done the center will be firm.

  7. Step 7

    Cool completely and serve. For an extra special treat, serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
