Looking to get some natural allergy relief at home? Your best bet in finding a real solution to the more common airborne allergies and their symptoms is be proactive and to try and prevent them instead of having to treat them. Here are some simple solutions you can use in your home.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Eliminate or limit that dust mite, dander and pollen grabbing carpet and replace it with a more allergy friendly wood or laminate flooring. Carpets can hold in a lot of irritants that can not be seen by the naked eye but are easily stirred up when walked on.

  2. Step 2

Cover any fabric furniture with plastic or with a less irritant attracting material. This can help get you some natural allergy relief by eliminating airborne allergens that can live deep down in the fabrics.

  3. Step 3

Professionally clean your mattress on occasion to reduce allergens that may be hiding deep in the fibers. People rarely consider the amount of dust, dead skin, dirt, pollen, dander and other causes of those stuffy, burning and itching symptoms that can be lurking just beneath their sheets.

  4. Step 4

Invest in a really good air filter or system for some natural allergy relief at home. Home use air filtration systems won't typically remove all irritants but they can still provide huge relief to some of the more common allergy causes.

  5. Step 5

Vacuum regularly using a really good HEPA vacuum or filter to help ease those unsettling symptoms. HEPA systems can catch and trap tiny particles that could otherwise be missed by a standard vacuum cleaner.

  6. Step 6

Keep doors and windows closed during seasons when allergy triggers are abundant. We all love fresh air but there is no need to suffer for it!

  7. Step 7

Try an all natural allergy relief treatment such as a netti pot. These nifty little devices can take a bit of getting use to but they help wash away allergens and irritants that can hide in your nasal passages

  8. Step 8

Control the temperature in your home. Keeping it all hot and stuffy is going to allow bacteria, molds to grow which will trigger an allergy attack. So try to maintain a comfort level setting of no more than around 70* F.

  9. Step 9

Clean your home thoroughly and properly at least once a week to eliminate triggers and ensure some natural allergy relief. This includes all chores needed to remove dust, dirt, mold, dander, pet hair, bacteria etc. So wipe down those counters, shelves and other hard surfaces with a damp cloth - do not dry dust, mop your floors with a mild cleaner, vacuum and wash and fabrics, bedding or furniture covers that you have in the home.
