To get a good deal on a meal in Rome, visit one of the take out stands around Campo dei Fiori. There you can also see street musicians and nightly entertainers.

Finally, visit St. Peter's Square and St. Peter's Basilica. This is the site where St. Peter was crucified and buried. There is also a fountain in the square by the famous Bernini and one by Carlo Maderno.

on 12/30/2009 Great article, but Rome's history goes much earlier than 27 B.C. Typo?
on 11/1/2009 I had a blast in Rome back in '87. It's a great place to visit! Great article on traveling to Rome on a budget.
