Things You'll Need:
- The Internet
-
Step 1
Before even registering, do your homework by getting an idea what your firearm is worth. You can even get an appraisal through the Gunbroker.com website.
-
Step 2
After you find out the value of your firearm you can then list it. Here again it is set up just like Ebay, people will bid and If you don't want to sell your firearm unless you can get a certain figure then you can put a reserve on it. The reserve will stay on until it is met, then the reserve will disappear.
-
Step 3
If you are selling a pistol, check the website for special regulations regarding pistols. In many states a pistol permit is required for purchasing a pistol.
-
Step 4
It is a good idea to see what the shipping cost will be for your firearm. You can find a list of Dealers right through the Gunbroker.com website. Remember, the dealer will have a service charge of $10 to $20 plus the shipping charge. I would add an additional $50 plus insurance so when you list your firearm make sure you charge enough to cover the service charge plus the shipping charge.
-
Step 5
After the auction is over, send the winning bidder an invoice. You must receive in writing the name and address of the Gun Dealer with their Federal I.D. number. If you don't receive this DON'T ship the Firearm.
-
Step 6
After you receive the information about where the Firearm is to be shipped and after you have received payment that clears in your bank it will be safe to ship your Firearm.
-
Step 7
Take the Firearm to your local Sport Shop to ship the firearm. You must bring the name of the Gun Dealer with his Federal I.D. along with you. In most cases they will box it up for you. Always get a receipt.
