Tips & Warnings
Songwriting isn't an innate talent that only a few people have. It is a skill that can be developed through practice. Develop a habit of writing every day and it will become easier. Improve your writing by reviewing and rewriting it as needed. Listen to your favorite music and analyze what you like about the lyrics. Try to apply what you have learned to your own writing.
Certain topics such as love and relationships lend themselves to songwriting. While it may feel natural or inviting to write about these, be careful not to plagiarize the work of another writer.
