Put two pieces of paper towel on the plate so that the paper towel is open. Place the cooked bacon onto the paper towel and cover to sop up the remaining fat.

    • 5

Drain the fat, carefully, from frying pan into a jar or aluminum can. Set aside.

Tips & Warnings

  • For softer bacon, cook for five to seven minutes. For crispier bacon, cook for 10 to 12 minutes. Omit brown sugar for smokier flavor. According to ChestofBook.com, do not purchase thick sliced bacon; it will not cook as well if it is too thick.

  • The fat from the bacon will be extremely hot; if the fraying pan gets too hot, the fat could splatter. The fat can not be poured down the sink drain as it will ruin the plumbing. The fat can not be poured into any plastic container as it will melt.
