There are several website design software packages available. Which one is the best?

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Money
  • Time
  • Common Sense
  1. Step 1

Examine all the software options. The prices & quality of website design vary drastically. Some are free, some cost money. Some are fantastic. Others are not.

  2. Step 2

If you need a free alternative, check out NVU- it's opensource software. It doesn't have a lot of bells & whistles (FTP not integrated last I checked), but it works. Great for basic use & people not sure if they need an integrated solution.

  3. Step 3

Consider Dreamweaver from Adobe. Top of the line web design software for hyper efficiency & professional web designers. Expect to pay $500 at least for a copy. High quality.

  4. Step 4

Look at Site Build It. Suite of web design software comes with hosting & marketing tools. Good for people looking for a complete package all in one spot.

  5. Step 5

Adjust as necessary. What you really need depends on your skill set & what you are trying to accomplish. Start small & eventually you'll find exactly what fits your needs.
