How to Buy a Gas Moped Step 1

The first thing you need to consider when buying a gas moped is how bif of an engine you want to have. There are 50cc mopeds which generally get between 80 and 100 mpg but only have a top speed of about 35 to 40 mph. These mopeds are more suitable for just running around town.

You can also opt for a larger engine such as a 150 cc engine which can reach speeds just over 50mph but may get slightly worse gas mileage than a 50cc. This model is best if you are going to travel longer distances and may have to use roads with a speed limit of 45mph or higher.

Once you have your moped gas moped picked out, you can now shop for accessories. First and most importantly you will need to buy a helmet. Not only will this protect you in a crash, but most states require you to wear one anyway.

Other things you can buy for your moped inclue a front windshield, which will protect you from bugs while you are traveling down the road.
If your moped does not already come with it, you can buy a locking compartment for the back of it, to store items while you are driving.
A waterproof cover is also a good idea to buy if you plan to leave your moped parked outside.

When at the moped store or dealer, try to negotiate a discount for accessories along with the purchase of your moped, Most dealers will be willing to haggle with you in order to get the sale.
