How to File Application for Unemployment Benefits
In many cases, people who lose their jobs through no fault of their own may receive unemployment benefits for up to six months. During the latter part of the first decade of the 21st century and into 2011, those benefits were extended for up to one year. Those people awarded unemployment benefits are expected to be actively seeking gainful employment. The guidelines and the application process for unemployment benefits are similar from state to state.
