2. Shop big manufacturers and seek out mass produced cabinets. You will find these either directly available from the manufacturer or in big box stores. There are quite a few different styles and variations available, but a cheap kitchen cabinet purchased in this manner will tend to be made of thin wood and drawers will be attached to plastic instead of metal tracks. They will work, but they may not be high quality.

3. Build your own cabinets. If you have the time and necessary skills, you could potentially save a great deal of money by constructing and installing your own kitchen cabinets. If you do the work yourself and use inexpensive wood, kitchen cabinets become a much more minor expense than they would have been otherwise.

4. Visit thrift shops and garage sales. Though this requires a bit of luck and skill, you will frequently find that other people who have new custom cabinetry installed are willing to sell off their old ones or donate them to thrift shops.
