Step 1
8 ball begins with the racking of 15 balls numbererd 1-15, in a triangular shape with balls 1-7 solids, and balls 9-15 are stripes, and the 8 ball in the center.
-
Step 2
Starting with the tip of the triangle the balls are then racked solid, stripe in alternating balls all the way around the rack.
-
Step 3
The game begins with someone breaking the balls up. There are many different rules of pool but I'll explain the most common way to play, after you break the balls up no matter how many of whichever balls you make the table is still "open" which means nobody is anything yet.
-
Step 4
If you made a ball on the break its your turn again, and then you either make a solid or stripe, whichever ball you make thats what you are for the rest of the game and you must continue to make all those balls either the stripes or solids whichever ones you get. If you didn't make a ball on the break its your opponents turn and they do the same.
-
Step 5
After you make either all the stripes of solid, whichever you are, you then must make the 8 ball, if you do then you win.
-
Step 6
Common Rules! If you scratch which means make the cue ball in one of the pockets then your opponent get to put the cue ball whever they want, as long as it is behind the 2nd diamond on the pool table. You must also call your pockets that you are trying to make a ball in, and you also must hit one of your balls first without hitting one of your opponents ball first.
