Dog food companies often run promotions, giving out free samples or coupons for their brands of food. When new or improved foods hit the market, promotions bring in sales, so manufacturers give away samples of products for consumers to try. Companies are now turning to Facebook as a promotional avenue and offer free samples if you click "like" on the companies' Facebook pages. Dog food manufacturers also give samples and coupons for visiting the their websites and signing up for promotional emails or newsletters.

  1. Manufacturers' Websites

    • 1

      Type a particular brand of dog food (IAMs, Pedigree, Alpo) in the browser's search window. Click on the dog food manufacturer's main website from the search list.

      Check the website for a promotions tab. If promotions tab is available click on it, to navigate to the promotions page.

      Sign up for email offers and newsletters. When free samples or coupons are available the company will send out emails to everyone who has signed up.

    Facebook Company Pages

      Search Facebook for dog food company pages. Click on the pages and look for free dog food promotions.

      Click "Like" to start receiving promotions and updates from the company posted to your wall.

      Click on the company pages and enter address information when free samples are listed as available.

    Get Free Dog Food Website

      Go to the "Get Free Dog Food" website (see Resources) and sign up to receive email alerts for free dog food samples.

      Fill out all required information and click "Submit." A registration email will be sent.

      Open registration email and click on link provided to complete registration.

    • 10

      Click on links provided in emails, fill out required information and submit requests for free dog food. The dog food will either be delivered by mail or a coupon will be issued for the full price of the dog food.

Tips & Warnings

  • Promotional sites do not accept P.O. Box addresses, so a physical address is needed to sign up for these promotions.
