        First, you will need to blot the stained area using a clean white cloth. Be sure to absorb as much of the coffee as possible. If the coffee stain has already dried you can skip this step and go on to step # 2.

        Next, flush the carpet stain with clean fresh water and then blot with another clean white cloth until most of the water has been soaked up.

        Then mix 1/2 cup of white vinegar to 1 cup of fresh water in a spray bottle, and spray the stain before blotting again with a clean white rag or cloth. By this time most of the stain should be gone and you can proceed to step # 4.
