How to Use Alcohol to Extend The Life of Your Razor Blades

Extend the life of your razor blades by placing them in a small container of alcohol. Your razor blades will be clean and sterile, free of germs, stay sharper longer, and nicks and cuts will be kept to a minimum.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Small container with tight-fitting lid.
  • Bottle of alcohol
  1. Step 1

Purchase a small container with a tight-fitting lid and a bottle of alcohol. (I purchased a two-pack from a box-mart store in the container section. The alcohol can be found at any pharmacy).

  2. Step 2

Fill the small container half full with alcohol. Place the razor blade in the container and put the lid back on. Make sure the razor is fully submerged. The razor will be isolated from air and water that can rust the razor blade and shorten it's life.

  3. Step 3

Rinse off the razor with water before using to avoid stinging your skin.
Since I have been using this method, one pack of razor blades will last me one year (your mileage may vary).

Tips & Warnings
  • The alcohol will need to be changed every 1-2 weeks, as small particles of hair will accumulate. You can use 70% or 100% alcohol.
