Instructions

    • 1

Remove the photo album pages from the inside of the album and set them aside. Open up the album and lay it out flat, facing down. Remove the hardware, if possible, to get it as flat as you can.

    • 2

Cut the fabric to a size that will cover the entire album plus a 2-inch border around the edges. Fold the edges of the fabric in 1/2 inch all the way around and iron it to keep the fold secure. Be sure to keep a straight edge since this will show on the inside of the album.

    • 3

Spray the back side of the album with spray adhesive and lay fabric down on top of it, leaving you with a 1-1/2-inch border around the edges. Smooth out any wrinkles or bubbles in the fabric for a clean look.

    • 4

Close the album, spray the spine with spray adhesive, and smooth fabric down over it. Repeat the process for the front of the album.

    • 5

Turn the album over with the inside facing up, and add glue from the glue gun all the way around the edges of the 1-1/2-inch border. Fold the border inward and secure the fabric to the inside of the album.

    • 6

Cut a piece of velvet ribbon to a length that will wrap around the entire album with an extra 2 inches to fold inward for securing it to the inside of the album. Set the iron to "cotton" or "wool" with the steam off. With the pen, mark on the back of the ribbon where you want the stamp's image to appear on the top side.

    • 7

Place the stamp on a flat surface with the relief side up. Place the ribbon on the stamp, positioned where you have it marked and with the velvet side down.

    • 8

Press the iron down, using the part of the plate with no steam holes, on the ribbon covering where the stamp's image will appear. Hold the iron there for approximately 10 to 30 seconds, then lift it straight off. Carefully pull the ribbon off the stamp and let it cool.

    • 9

Apply a small amount of the low-moisture paste-style glue to the inside of the front of the album and attach one end of the ribbon to it. Let that dry for several minutes. Continue by wrapping the ribbon around the album and gluing it to the inside of the back of the album.

    • 10

Reinstall the album's hardware if it's been taken out and insert photographs from your wedding celebration.

Tips & Warnings

  • Cover your work surface with newspaper to protect it from glue. Avoid using a stamp that has tons of detail or is shallow. Simple letters work best. Get some extra ribbon to test out the stamp imprinting before trying it on your cut piece. If you find that the ribbon sticks to the iron, try turning the setting down a bit.
