1
Choose a location. An ideal location will be a good distance from your home so that no smoke will get in the house and not near any shrubs, bushes, or trees that could catch fire.
-
2
Dig a hole. The hole can be any shape or size you like and should be 1 foot deep.

3
Put a single layer of bricks at the bottom of the pit to create a good, sturdy surface to build fires on. Lay the bricks around the edge of the pit. Place the bricks close together at the base so that they are touching. Work your way up until the wall of the fire pit is the desired height.
-
4
Secure the bricks using the cement or mortar to make a sturdy wall around the pit. Be sure that your binding material is not flammable.
-
5
Let stand at least one night before using. Light a fire and enjoy. Consider buying a grilling grate to place on top of your fire pit for cooking.
