How to Load a .22 Rifle Clip

This article explains how to load the clip for a standard /22 rifle.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • An empty clip from a .22 rifle.
  • Eight to ten .22 rifle bullets.
  • Completion of a basic Hunter's Safety course.
  1. Step 1

    Determine which hand is your dominant hand - If you are right-handed and holding the clip in front of yourself, you will hold the clip in your left hand with the opening facing up as in this image.

    In this image is a sample .22 rifle bullet. Grasp the tip (top copper-looking pointy end) in you right hand between your thumb and first finger.

    Press the 'base' shell end of the bullet into the clip - it should slide in with minimal/moderate force and the 'base' should lock in under the retainer portion of the clip. See the red-circled area in this image.

  4. Step 4

    Repeat all steps until the clip is full. The clip is full when you attempt to press another bullet into it and it does not slide into a locked position with moderate ease.
