Step 1
If your dorm has a kitchen, make good use of it. For those students who cook, when it comes their turn to prepare meals, they can commandeer others to do some of the prep work. While the student is 'helping', he can also be learning. Meanwhile most students can turn out at least one edible dish and so rotation will keep meals from getting repetitious. There should be enough people interested in the project to pool resources and shop for large, and therefore economical meals. You can also make take-away snacks and late-night noshes for each person to enjoy in their rooms. In most cases, this is a great opportunity to become closer to your classmates and share more than just a 'hello' in the halls.

Step 2
College cafeterias are much better these days by public demand. They offer more healthy choices and cater to a student body that's much better educated in nutrtion than ever before. Besides full meals most cafeterias have an option to purchase take-away items. Get things like fresh fruit, sandwiches, cereal, raw veggies, etc.. You'll have it on hand in the dorm on that busy morning and avoid the coffee shop with its 800-calorie muffin on the way to class. It's much easier on the pocketbook, too.

Step 3
The above steps will work out great for you, but if you can, try and pick up some healthy recipes online as a college student. You're going to find that there are a lot of them out there, so take advantage!
