Things You'll Need:

  • computer, internet connection
  1. Step 1

One of the best ways to make money online is to be an affiliate marketer. This means that you are marketing someone's else's product for a commission. The advantage is that you do not need to create your own product, and you have a proven product to sell.

Here are the steps I recommend you take to get started:

First, join and participate in the various forums on the internet for affiliate marketers. There are many fine free ones, including Warrior Forum, Digital Point and Affilorama. In addition, there are some paid forums such as PPC Coach and Wealthy Affiliate that provide additional assistance.

  2. Step 2

Second, join up with affiliate networks that have a good reputation for paying on time. You can read all about the networks on the forums I just mentioned. The ones I belong to and recommend are: , Azoogle, Market Leverage, Clickbank, Hydra, Flux, Commission Junction, Pepper Jam, Clickbooth, Revenue Loop, XY7, Maxbounty, Ads4Dough and Copeac. There are literally hundreds to choose from.

  3. Step 3

Third, when you join a network you will be assigned an affiliate manager (known as your "AM"). Do everything you can to get to know this person as they control your fate! They determine how much you get paid on the offers, since everything in affiliate marketing is negotiable. For example, if you are driving a lot of traffic to an offer, you can ask for, and often get, a raise in the commission from your AM.

  4. Step 4

Fourth, pick some offers to promote. You can choose from CPA or CPS offers. CPA is cost per action, where you get paid when someone completes an action, such as filling out a form. CPS is cost per sale, where you get a commission when a product is sold. I do CPA and CPS offers, and the typical commissions I get are $1.50 for an email submit, $5 for a dating application, $14 for a loan modification application, and $40 for a teeth whitening kit purchase.

  5. Step 5

Fifth, once you pick your offers, you will retrieve your links from the affiliate network's site. You can download banners to put on your site, or you can just download a hyperlink and building landing pages. Of course, you need hosting for your sites and I recommend and use Hostgator.

  6. Step 6

Sixth, you must drive traffic to your site or your landing pages in order to have customers who will click on your affiliate links and banners. I recommend search (PPC), Email, Social Media, Blogs, Squidoo Lenses, Hub Pages, Article Marketing like Ezine Articles, and video sites like Youtube. However, you should know that the methods for driving traffic are simply unlimited! Pick the ones that work best for you.

  7. Step 7

Finally, it's time to collect your checks for your hard work. Affiliate networks typically send a check net 15 or net 30, meaning that you get sent a check on the 15th or the 30th of the month after the month you earned the money. Once you get established and start earning the big money, you can negotiate with your AM for frequent wires of payment directly to your bank account.
