How to Remove Cancerous Moles

If you think you may have a cancerous mole you should visit your personal doctor or dermatologist. Most moles will be nothing to worry about, but if you have been noticing a mole growing in size or deepening in color you will want to have it checked out. The doctor will probably want to remove it, just to be safe. The removal procedure does not take long and is close to pain-free.

Instructions

    • 1

Make an appointment with your doctor for your procedure. When you arrive you will need to remove any clothing covering the questionable mole.

    • 2

Receive a local anesthetic around the mole area. This will normally come in the form of a shot into the mole.

    • 3

Scrape the mole off with a scalpel. For large moles that protrude the slice will need to be at the bottom of the mole, while flat wide moles will require a cut slightly under the skin line.

    • 4

Sew the wound up. For smaller moles that stick out no stitching will be required, but flat wide moles will need it. For this part of the procedure the skin around the mole will need to be stretched over the area and sewn up.

    • 5

Bandage the area and the procedure will be complete.
