Instructions

    • 1

Cut two triangles out of the black felt for the cat ears. Glue them to a plastic headband or directly to the hood of a hooded sweatshirt.

    • 2

Cut a small oval out of faux fur for the belly, and glue it to the middle of the sweatshirt.

    • 3

Cut two strips of faux fur to make cuffs. Use the cuffs on the hooded sweatshirt as a pattern for the width and length. Glue the fur cuffs to the sweatshirt.

    • 4

Using the rest of the felt, cut it into a long tail and safety pin it to the seat of the sweatpants.

    • 5

Put one pair of socks onto the hands and one pair on the feet. Use a black eyeliner pencil to draw on a nose and whiskers.

Tips & Warnings

  • You do not have to be a black cat. You can change up the colors of the sweatsuit and fabric. If you want to add stripes or dots to the costume, use a permanent marker and draw them on. Make a dog collar out of an old belt and accessorize your costume.

  • Make the tail shorter for small children, so they don't trip over it.
