How to Replace the Radio in an Isuzu NPR

The Isuzu NPR is a large diesel truck used primarily by commercial businesses. While unimpressive, the factory radio does its job, but some drivers may want a more powerful unit. Like on most trucks, the radio can be removed with special DIN tools and replaced with a more powerful radio unit. If the radio is malfunctioning, the unit can also be replaced with a stock radio.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert the ends of the DIN tools into the DIN pin slots on either end of the stereo. There are two sets of two slots on either side of the radio. The DIN tools are horseshoe-shaped. The ends or tips of the DIN tool are inserted into the DIN slots.

    • 2

Apply outward pressure outwards on both tools and pull the radio unit forward towards you.

    • 3

Remove the ISO electrical plug from the back of the stereo by squeezing the release tab and removing the plug. Then remove the antenna plug.

    • 4

Install the new radio unit. Installation is the reverse of removal.
