1
Prepare the room for paint by taking down curtains, pictures, etc. Remove all small furniture and place the bed in the center of the room. Cover the bed with an old sheet or table cloth and tape off or cover anything that could get unwanted paint on it including your floor.

Paint your ceiling and walls in that order. Always start from top to bottom when painting. You can also consider adding to the room by putting a border or trim. Give the paint at least 24 hours to dry before adding your border or trim. Make sure you choose your shades of paint wisely, so you don't get tired of them in a couple months and have to repaint.

Hang your curtains and any pictures or posters you choose. You can also add more to the room by buying a purple lampshade and\or adding candles with different shades of purple. You can use different shades of blue and white. Another addition could be some fresh lilacs or another purple flower in a decorative vase.

Put your bedspread on and lay your throw rug. Adding a couple throw rugs can unify the room as long as they are not too small. Also if you layer different size rugs or lay rugs on top of carpet it will add depth to the room. Consider adding a bed skirt that ties in with your bedspread to hide anything you might store underneath your bed. Or if you have wood floors it will help prevent dust bunny buildup.
