How to Learn English Prepositions Online

A preposition in the English language is a part of speech that is used to introduce a phrase. Students are taught prepositions while in elementary school. You may have a child struggling with grammar lessons or you might be new to the English language altogether. Whatever the case may be, there are numerous websites that offer lessons on English grammar, including prepositions. Each of these lessons can help you learn English prepositions and do so for free.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Learn English prepositions on the English Language Guide website. This website offers several lists of prepositions as well as explanations on the different types of prepositions found in the English language. All of the information is found on one web page so all you need to do is scroll down the page to complete the prepositions lesson.

  2. Step 2

    Complete the prepositions lessons on the Capital Community College Foundation website. Scroll down the main prepositions page in order to find examples and lengthy explanations on prepositions. You can also find five separate prepositions quizzes at the very bottom of the website.

  3. Step 3

    Find three different English prepositions lessons on the 1 Language website. This website actually lists an entire English grammar book by way of numerous links. Scroll down the homepage and you will see three different prepositions links (units 47 to 49) on the bottom of the page. Select one of these links to begin the lesson.

  4. Step 4

    Use the lessons on Perfect Your English to learn English prepositions. The first page lists on overview of prepositions and how they're used in English. You will find six different lesson links beneath the "Sections in This Article" heading at the very bottom of the page. Go through each of these lessons to enhance your knowledge of English prepositions.
