Instructions

    • 1

Roll each of your disposable diapers from one end to another so it is a tight roll. Wrap a rubber band around each roll, and twist it a couple of times so the roll remains snug. Do this with all 60 diapers.

    • 2

Set a bottle of baby bath soap or shampoo on a flat surface. Begin to set the rolled diapers around it so they stand on their sides. After you make a complete loop of diapers, cut a piece of string and wrap it around the diapers. Tie the string in a tight knot to hold the diapers to the bottle. Make another round of diapers and tie, then a third round.

    • 3

Create a second layer of diapers on top of the first layer. Make it smaller than the first layer so it takes on a tiered cake look. Push a piece of string through the bottom layer and up through the next layer, and tie the two together to secure the layers.

    • 4

Wrap some wide decorative ribbon around the outside of the first layer so it covers the string. Tie in a pretty bow. Repeat on the next layer.

    • 5

Tape baby toys, toiletries and other items to the outside of the cake or so it rests between diapers. Pacifiers, bath toys, washcloths and tubes of diaper rash cream are all great choices. Add one large item, such as a stuffed animal, at the top of the cake. Secure to the top layer with string and ribbon.

Tips & Warnings

  • Avoid using much tape, because it may become stuck on the diapers and tear them when the mom tries to remove it.
