The HUD Approved Housing Counseling Agencies provide valuable guidance and assistance with home purchasing, renting, reverse mortgages, and default/foreclosure prevention. These services are available at no cost. The counseling programs include Homebuyer Education, Money Debt Management, Pre-Purchase Counseling, Post-Purchase Counseling, Services for the Homeless, Loss Mitigation, Renter's Assistance, and various other programs that are designed to assist.

      Avoid eviction and foreclosure by contacting the Home Repair Services organization for assistance. The Home Repair Services organization, located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a non-profit organization that serves low income homeowners throughout Kent County. The program assists homeowners with home repair and maintenance that are designed to maintain your home's safety and value. The organization also provides financial counseling services that assist homeowners in avoiding foreclosure. Home Repair Services works directly with you and your lender to prevent foreclosure when possible.
