How to Install EK Fog Lights
The EK chassis refers to the sixth generation of the Honda Civics manufactured between 1996 and 2000. Although fog lights were an option, many EK Civics did not come with them. There was, however, a factory harness for the fog lights to be connected. The only thing you really need to install EK fog lights is a kit from Honda or a reputable aftermarket manufacturer.

Remove the mounting screws holding the bumper in place using a Philips-head screwdriver.

Remove the plastic rivets that hold the inner wheel lining to the bumper. Pry up on them with a flat-head screwdriver.

Pull the bumper off the frame and lay it on a soft surface that will not scratch the paint.

Remove the placeholders for the fog lights. You may need to use a cutting tool to do this.

Install the fog light housing into the placeholder hole you made and secure the lights to the bumper bracket using the supplied screws in your fog light kit.

Connect the electrical plugs to both fog lights. There will be a plug on each end of the fog light wiring harness. The 1-pin connector should be oriented on the driver's side of the vehicle because it is the control unit that will run to the passenger cabin.

Reattach the bumper to the EK Civic.

Secure the ground wire to the frame in the engine bay and run the wiring from the bumper, through the engine bay and into the passenger cabin through the grommet on the firewall on the driver's side. To ground the wiring, you can use a free frame bolt or the shock tower bolt.

Open the fuse box panel and remove the placeholder for the fog light switch from behind the dash.

Plug the 6-pin connector into the free 6-pin empty slot in the fuse box.

Insert the fog light switch through the back of the dash and make sure it clicks into place.

Connect the 1-pin connector to the back of the fog light switch and ground the switch wiring to a free bolt on the inside of the car. You can use the dead pedal bolts for this purpose.
