Sleeping Beauty and Prince Charming

Just about every little girl dreams of being a princess. On Halloween she can dress up like any princess and live the dream, but who says that big girls can't be princesses, too? On Halloween you can be anyone you want to be, including Sleeping Beauty. It is easier to buy a Sleeping Beauty costume for children than for adults, so you may have to get creative and make your own.

Instructions

    • 1

Purchase a pink dress from a secondhand or discount clothing store. Prom dresses or bridesmaid dresses work very well for this as they often have long, full skirts similar to the one Sleeping Beauty wore in the classic Disney film. If you want to add a twist and dress up as a sexy Sleeping Beauty, look for something with a short skirt and low neck line.

    • 2

Buy a headband, and then cover it with sequins to make a tiara. If you want to make a more ornate tiara, try cutting out pieces of cardboard in matching shapes, such as small hearts or simple leaves, and gluing them to the top of the headband before covering it with the sequins. Let this stand overnight to dry before wearing.

    • 3

Embellish the dress by gluing on sequins. Don't go overboard or the dress will look tacky. Just a few around the neckline or bottom of the skirt will do. Let the dress stand overnight to allow the glue to dry before wearing.

Put on the dress first, then the wig, and the tiara last. The tiara will help to hold the wig in place while you are wearing it.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you have a date, ask him to dress as Prince Charming for an entirely enchanted evening.
