Things You'll Need:
- Persistence
- American Flag
- Loyalty
- Patriotic
-
Step 1
Flying the flag over the middle of a street? Be sure to suspend it vertically - with the union facing to the north in an east and west street or to the east in a north and south street.
-
Step 2
When flown with another flag, the American Flag should be on the left (as the viewer looks at it) and its staff should be in front of the staff of the other flag.
-
Step 3
When flown at "Half-Staff" the American Flag should first be hoisted to the peak for an instant, and then lowered to the half-staff position.
-
Step 4
When the American Flag is used to cover a casket, it should be placed so the union is at the head and over the left shoulder. The flag should not be lowered into the grave or allowed to touch the ground.
-
Step 5
When the American Flag is displayed on a car, the staff shall be fixed firmly to the chassis or clamped to the right fender.
-
Step 6
When the American Flag is hung in a window, place the blue union in the upper left, as viewed from the street.

25 yrs. ago I heard Coach Bob Knight speak at a basketball clinic in Chicago. It was after the 1984 Summer Olympics. He finished his motivational lecture with these POWERFUL words. "America, America God Shed His Grace On Thee."
All the Best,
Steve

on 9/26/2009 Thanks for sharing, "How to Display the American Flag in Public." After 9/11, the town home community I live in worked to raise funds to install a flag pole at the entrance. Many residents who are veterans enthusiastically spearheaded this project. Every time I see this flag, I'm reminded of the 9/11 and how people joined together to do something good after the terrible tragedy.
