Is your wardrobe dated or worn out? Looking to give those old clothes some new flair? Read on for some great tips on resurrecting old garments into a "new" wardrobe.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

A fresh dye job. If your clothes have gotten faded from years of washing and wearing, re-dying them can be just the ticket to making them look new again. You can also dye items to change the color and give them a fresh look. You can also use bleach as a way to change the color. Full strength to make it white, or diluted to fade it out.

  2. Step 2

Patches. Patches aren't just a way to cover holes and worn spots. Patches can also add new life and interest to a garment. Patches can come in both iron-on and sew-on versions featuring everything from smiley faces to elaborate tattoo-style designs. Adding patches can completely change the look of a plain clothing item.

  3. Step 3

Paint it up. You can use fabric paint or acrylic craft paint to do amazing things to clothes. Go wild with some splatter painting, or show your artistic flair by painting funky and fabulous images on your clothes.

  4. Step 4

Jewels and such. Remember the Bedazzler from back in the day? Well, they're making a comeback, and that can be to your benefit. Add rivets, raised metal pieces, faux gemstones and a variety of other bits and baubles to your clothing for that added bit of bling.

  5. Step 5

Snip and stitch. Adding or removing parts of a garment can give it new life. Turn ragged jeans into great shorts, add lace frill to an old mini skirt, or turn a tee into a tank. Get creative! If you've got a lot of sewing skill, you can even use old garments as raw materials for totally new creations.
