How to Dress for the Military Ball

The Military Ball is a formal event where you should be dressed to impress. You are a strong representation of your gentlemans character. He should stand proud to have you on his arm. This is your night to shine ladies!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Stick with solid colors or dresses with very little detail. Keep in mind your gentlemans choice of uniform as you do not want to clash. The dress should be simple and flatter your figure as well as your gentlemans uniform.

  2. Step 2

The neckline of your dress should not show any cleavage. I find that a choker collar dress is very sexy yet not revealing, showing off only your shoulders.

  3. Step 3

High neck dresses that show a little back are also gorgeous. Please keep in mind that the back of your dress should not be too low. showing off back just about up to the bra line is sufficient. If you cannot wear a bra with the dress for any reason then it is probably not the right dress for you

  4. Step 4

Your dress should be FLOOR LENGTH. Many woman show up in dresses just below the knee and end up feeling uncomfortable. Formal ball gowns are always floor length. My advise is do not go with anything poofy, frilly, or too full. There will be plenty of women in the room waiting for something to snicker and sneer at.

  5. Step 5

Comfortable shoes are a must as you will be standing for long periods of time. Comfortable does not mean ugly. There are many varieties of comfortable shoes that are very easy on the eye.

  6. Step 6

Jewelry should not be over the top and should not appear to be fake. Earring should be small or thin.

  7. Step 7

Hair and nails are a must. You will be shaking hands all night, if you are wearing gloves (this does not apply for full length gloves) you must remove the glove from your right hand and hold it in your left as proper etiquette so there is no hiding poorly groomed hands.

  8. Step 8

Finally, you should always be wearing a smile, be polite, sir and ma'am for elders... please, thank you and pardon. You manners will shine far more than any jewelry or fancy gown you have on.... always be a lady. Have fun and enjoy the memorable time.
