  1. Step 1

The first step in reducing stress is to just slow down and put things into perspective. Sure, sometimes events/situations are really bad, but most often, its up to you to determine how you feel. If you stay under control and positive, you can even learn from mistakes and unfortunate events.

  2. Step 2

Find a peaceful place where you can just relax. When you go to this place, don't think about negative things. Think about all the positive things you have in your life. Most of the time, positives out weigh negatives by a long shot.

  3. Step 3

Find someone to talk to. Sometimes just getting things off your chest can make you feel a whole lot better. If you don't want to talk, write down your thoughts in a journal.

  4. Step 4

Get plenty of sleep and exercise. Typically well rested and fit individuals are happy. They are recharged and have lots of energy due to physical exercise and recovery. You also have more positive energy when you feel good about yourself and the way you look.

  5. Step 5

Listen to soothing music. Listen to songs with positive messages, relaxing sounds, alpha waves to make you calm down.
