Things You'll Need:

- Primer
- Damp cloth
- Drop Cloth
- Gloves
-
Step 1
*Paint removal*
Begin by brushing wicker with wire brush. Your goal is to remove as much of the chipping paint as possible. The brush will remove most of the paint. -
Step 2
* Fine-tuning*
With sand paper began removing paint the brush couldn't reach.
Wipe with damp cloth to remove any dust left behind. -
Step 3
* Preparing for paint*
In a well ventilated area paint wicker with a good primer. Follow the directions on can. This step is vital. It prepares the wicker so your final coat will have an even color. -
Step 4
Recyled wicker* Painting
Use the paint of your choice. I like Rustoleum's Universal. It covers more evenly and has a softer color even though I painted mine white. In the photo notice the chair on the right painted with Universal. It has better coverage. I have since made new cushions.
