Eliminate Morning Sickness

Morning sickness is a condition that happens to many pregnant women. Morning sickness causes nausea and often vomiting that is usually worse in the mornings, but can last all day. See the steps below for eliminating or reducing morning sickness.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Consider keeping some crackers or other bland food near your bed so you can eat a little something before getting out of bed in the morning. Keeping your stomach full keeps morning sickness at bay.

  2. Step 2

Eat 5+ smaller meals instead of only 3 small meals to reduce morning sickness. Keep small snacks or hard candy with you at all times in case you start feeling sick.

  3. Step 3

Ginger, ginger snaps, ginger ale, or ginger lolly pops can help reduce morning sickness.

  4. Step 4

Eat bland foods to not upset your stomach. Bland foods will decrease the chances of getting morning sickness.

  5. Step 5

Try one or more commercially available products that claim to help morning sickness. The products include acupressure bands, preggie pops, special teas, sprays, and candies.

  6. Step 6

Avoid smells or thoughts that may trigger morning sickness. Ask for help with certain tasks that might have those smells or suggest another restaurant if a friend wants to go to one that has a smell you do not currently like.

  7. Step 7

If your morning sickness is really bad, contact your doctor. Talk to your doctor about taking vitamins B6 and/or B12. Vitamins B6 and B12 have been shown to reduce morning sickness. Make sure to not get dehydrated. Make sure to take your prenatal vitamins so your baby gets the nutrition required.
