You will see here what are the necessary steps required before attempting to buff a vehicle

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Hose down your vehicle for about five minutes to loosen dirt and get it soft.

  2. Step 2

Use dishwashing detergent liquid to wash vehicle really clean. This is only used since normal car wash liquids will not really deep clean vehicle and remove existing old wax on the finish. Rinse vehicle thoroughly and dry with a chamois.

  3. Step 3

Get a detailer spray and spray on liberally on one section at a time. Take a clay bar(sold at most car care outlets)and rub it in a straight line back and forth motion along the surface of the finish. Continue doing this until the clay starts gliding on the surface. Look at the clay bar and see all the impurities from the finish onto it. Repeat to all sections of the vehicle kneeding the clay bar occasionally to get a clean fresh portion. You have now deep clean your finish in readiness for buffing.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use detailer's spray to wipe off residue
  • Use microfiber towel
  • Keep turning clay to a clean section
