Eczema is a painful and itchy skin condition in both adults and kids. It causes red rashes and can be embarrassing. See the steps below to reduce eczema itching and rashes.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Try to figure out what triggers the eczema rashes, which is most likely an allergy. Is it a food, a certain cleaning product, the cat? Do what you can to avoid whatever you are allergic to.

  2. Step 2

Avoid scratching the eczema. Scratching causes the rash to get worse and will cause more itching.

  3. Step 3

Keep the eczema rash areas moisturized with a gentle but thick moisturizer. Moisturizers keep the area from being dry which compounds the eczema itching.

  4. Step 4

Do not take long hot baths or showers. The heat from the water dries out your skin and can make your eczema extra itchy.

  5. Step 5

Avoid overheating or sweating because it can make your eczema extra itchy.

  6. Step 6

If your eczema is severe, go to a dermatologist who specializes in eczema treatment. There are many different treatments available.
