How to Make Spiders Out of Egg Cartons

It's getting close to my favorite Holiday, Halloween. Spooky decorations are a must. Here is an easy and cheap way to make spiders for hanging or adding to webs. Plus your kids will love to help.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• Egg Cartons
• Sissors
• Paint
• Paintbrush
• Tape
• Skewer (metal)
• Pipe Cleaners
• Elastic String

1. Cut out a cup from the egg carton. With the skewer, carefully punch 8 holes around the bottom (for his legs) and one at the top if you want to hang your spider.

2. Paint the outside of the cup and let it dry thoroughly. Cut pipe cleaners into 8 equal parts, these are legs for your spider.

3. Put the legs (pipe cleaners) into the 8 holes on the bottom, then bend them into shape. Inside of the cup bend the pipe cleaners over and tape them into place.

4. Now you can decide to hang them or add them to other decorations, that's the beauty of pipe cleaners, they are flexible and easy to work with. I add these to my spider web decorations, but they can be put almost anywhere. If you are hanging them thread elastic string throw the top hole putting a knot at the end. Now watch them bounce.
