Easy to follow steps on how to plan your bridal shower.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • creativity
  • money
  • time
  • friends/family
  1. Step 1

Guest List. Know how many people are to be invited and make a list and add 10 to the list for the groomsmen, as they usually attend.

  2. Step 2

Price out halls. Don't just settle for any hall get the one you want by asking if they price match, if not choose the best one for your buck.

  3. Step 3

Register for gifts. Use a few stores. One option is to let the guy roam and register for his stuff at Lowe's or Best buy. The bride should register at Bed Bath and Beyond, Macy's, or Target for all the home decor and goods. ALWAYS register for double the amount of guests to allow a selection and to ensure no duplicate gifts are purchased.

  4. Step 4

Think of shower theme. Most bridal showers have a theme of some kind unless they are at an extravagant location or hall. Use a simple Tuscan theme, a Hawaiian theme, Under the sea theme, there are many go with what you want and with what will not break you as the objective is to get money and gifts not spend.

  5. Step 5

Shower Gifts and Games. Only buy a few expensive gifts and the others should look expensive but be cheap. The goal here is to not spend a lot of money but to make sure everyone gets something for coming. Pull numbers, play anniversary or birthday games, bingo, just make sure everyone gets something.

  6. Step 6

Shower menu. Cash bar will save you money as this is always an option at showers. The food menu, don't go crazy as most shower and wedding food is not that good and the guest won't remember it once they leave. Go with the wedding classics like veggies, chicken, pasta, a beef, rolls, and salad.

  7. Step 7

Gifts. When opening gifts be sure to utilize the groomsmen. Create a production line as most people just want to give and go. Be sure to thank the person for the gift and say what the gift was. Example, Thanks to Nancy Z for the gift of money or for the gift of plates.

  8. Step 8

Give thanks. Parents first and then guests. Remember you can't be thankful enough as this day wouldn't have been possible without your friends/family.

  9. Step 9

Introduce the Bridal party. Ladies and then Groomsmen, mention their name even if not present.

  10. Step 10

Seating chart. Don't put people that don't get along by each other.
