Instructions

    • 1

Dig a straight, shallow trench about 1 inch deep with your hoe from one end of the garden space to the other. If you want to plant more than one row, dig another trench 18 to 24 inches apart from the first.

    • 2

Fill the trench with water. Let the soil absorb the water.

    • 3

Place the seeds two to four inches apart down the length of the trench.

    • 4

Cover the seeds with soil using the hoe. They should only be planted about 1 inch deep.

    • 5

Water to keep the soil moist, but not saturated. If the soil is too wet, the seeds will not germinate properly. You should see some sprouts in about two weeks or so.

Tips & Warnings

  • It's best to till the soil about 10 inches deep before planting.

  • Be sure that all danger of frost has passed before planting.
