Hack a Webpage
Hack a Webpage

Everyone wants to edit a website, but most have no clue how to do it. It's extraordinarily simple! Just follow this article and you will be able to change "Google" to "Poodle". This will only work on Mozilla Firefox, so if you do not use Mozilla as your current browser, you can download it here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/firefox.html

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Mozilla Firefox
  1. Step 1

To begin, you must download a small pluggin (firebug) for Mozilla Firefox. "Firebug" is a simple addon that will allow you to edit the inner coding of any website on the internet. You can download it here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/firefox.html

  2. Step 2

Now that you have the firebug addon installed on your Mozilla Firefox, you should have a small "bug" at the bottom right of your browser. This will ensure that firebug is installed.

  3. Step 3

Now, use your mouse to scroll over a "text" or an image you would like to change/edit. Simply, right click it and select "Inspect Element". Immediately, the firebug display will show you the exact location of the "text" you selected in the website's HTML (inner files) coding. For example: In the photo I am editing "Google Search".

  4. Step 4

Now all you need to do is change the text from what it says - to what you want it to say. The text should immediately change to what your typing. It's as simple as that!

Tips & Warnings
  • The website's HTML coding will not change for other people's computers. However, some websites can be changed in a way that will allow you to "cheat" their system.
  • No harm done! :-)
