Handwriting analysis is called Graphology. It is a science. In mathematics 4+4=8. In handwriting stroke + stroke = a trait of the writer's personality. Handwriting analysis reveals traits of anger, shyness, ego, happy, depression, anxiety, or even drug abuse. When used by the Police or FBI, it will expose, fraud, forgery, or possibly solve a crime.
Socrates used it and so did Shakespeare in his plays.
Things You'll Need
- Sample of Handwriting
- Magnifying glass
First look at the way the writing the upper strokes slant. Do they go left, right of straight up. If unsure use the protractor as a guide. Slanting to the left we have a person is shy and timid. A right slanting handwriting tells us the person is more outgoing, shows more emotion. No slant of the upper stokes of a letter lets us know the person knows what they want and how to go about getting it.
Put a ruler against the line of writing in a sentence. Does the base line keep straight? Drop downwards or goes upwards to the top of the page. By looking at this we can tell that a falling base line, base line going down the writer is fatigued, unhappy, depressed. In other words the writer does not have the energy to continue to hold the pen and write level.
Level base line - which is seldom found - most base lines are slightly bouncy go up and down and this is normal writing. We will often find a level base line in a writer who is going blind and holds a ruler under the line they are writing on to keep the writing level.
Rising base line usual tell us the writer has energy and is outgoing. However, if a person has decided to commit suicide their writing will sometimes slant upwards. This is because they have come to a decision and decided to get out of their unhappy life.
Already see how much you know about the writer with just this much information. When you study a person's handwriting you can tell if they will be compatible with you. An example would be a couple who are seriously thinking about moving in together when we checked their writing and found one small tight writing and the other one big a sprawl writing. This would at once tell us that a lot of adjust would have to be made to make them a happy couple. One writer - the small writer would most likely be an introvert and the big writer that fills the page with big fat writing is an extrovert.
Size of writing is important too. Large writing tells us the writer wants their space needs to be seen and heard. Like activity, material possessions are important to them. They enjoy people and like being the center of attention. They are social people they never say no, to a party. In fact they would be excellent at arranging parties or functions and they would be good to sit next to a shy person at a dinner as they would get them talking and laughing.
Small writing would make a good chemist, researcher, and accountant. They can concentrate fully on one thing. They concentrate so deeply it is sometimes hard to get their attention. They have the ability to eliminate all outside interference and concentrate on one subject. Plus, they are not party goers unless they know everyone who is attending as these people also tend to be shy.
Final Stoke of the Pen. At the end of each word is a 'final 'stroke, look at these they can tell us a lot about the personality of the writer. If there are no final strokes on letter the writer is matter of fact and very few friends know them well. In the workplace this is the employee who keeps at their desk and likes to have jobs that they can control and not have to mix with co-workers. It is also hard to get to know them as they do not talk about themselves too much.
Long strokes on the ends of letters, any letter that takes up space goes on further than taught at school indicates many factors to a Graphologist. . A final stroke on a letter that is long and straight the writer is saying stay away from me give me space. Their attitude is 'what is mine is mine' and they find it hard to share things like their thoughts or passions.
When we see the last stroke curl up think of it as a smile and the writer is friendly. The writer looks on the best of life is an optimist most of the time.
The personal pronoun 'I' a very important letter.
When the 'I' is printed with a line at the top and bottom the writer sets perimeters on themselves. They know how far their ambitions can go; they know what they can do with what they have.
Straight line for an 'I' write is aware of own capabilities, is matter of fact. These people are also intellectual and sometimes blunt as their attitude is 'the truth is the truth' so why not speak it like it is.
Any 'I' that is crossed like an 'I' that looks like a 'Z' of an 'I' that has a big loop at the top and it crosses over the line of the "I'. The writer should try to change this writing as every time you write the letter 'I' with a cross through it you are subconsciously crossing yourself out. The subconscious action can be due to a guilt you have, due to insecurity; due to you cannot face what you have done or are doing. But, whatever it is try and change that stroke it is an indication you do not like yourself in some areas
Remember, no decision is made on any writing until the whole of the writing has been judged. Or, the writing keeps repeating the one trait like a long line at the end of a word. Do not be too hasty to judge from just one or two pages of writing. Graphologist would like at least one or two pages of writing done at different times, different days. A trained graphologist needs to know if the writer is on prescription medication. Some medication changes the writing drastically. Street drugs, illegal drugs and alcohol abuse will be revealed in the formation of the letters.
