Unknowingly, many people are combing their hair in ways that cause more damage and destruction than the tangles themselves. Brushing in the wrong direction, or with the wrong tool can rip hair, cause split-ends, and make tangles worse. This article gives the tools you need in order to get rid of tangles, and grow beautiful, glamorous hair.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Hair
  • Hairbrush
  • Comb
  • Hair Pick
  1. Step 1

With WET hair, always remember to use a comb or hair pick. Never use a brush, as it is one of the easiest ways to damage hair. Brushing wet hair can cause the hair to break unevenly, with lots of split ends. Using a comb or hair pick is safe (and works well) on all lengths and types of hair. If the hair is dry, it is safe to use a brush.

  2. Step 2

Secondly, remember to start at the bottom (ends) of your hair and work your way up to the roots. If you run into a tangle, work through the bottom first. Conditioner (leave-on or wash-out) can also be used.

By using a comb or hair pick, and starting at the bottom of the hair, the tangles will separate, making it easier to comb out. Starting at the root, and working your way down, will cause split ends and ripped hair.

  3. Step 3

Thirdly, always remember to brush hair before showering. If your hair is dry, or tangles easily from the shower, run white vinegar or apple cider vinegar through your hair. Make sure to rinse it out, and your hair will be soft and easy to comb through.

  4. Step 4

Follow the steps for a fast, easy, cheap way of creating gorgeous hair in no time.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be gentle with your hair. Don't rush the brush, or be too aggressive. The better your hair is treated, the better it will look.
