How to Use the Channels Folder in Explorer

Use channels to "subscribe" to a Web site. You can view the channel online or offline at your convenience.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Internet Access
  • E-mail Accounts
  • Internet Explorer

Step1
To view a channel, open the Favorites folder and choose Channels. Choose a category and then click on a site.
Step2
To subscribe to the channel, click Add Active Channel or Add to Active Desktop on the page that appears.
Step3
Delete a channel by right-clicking it in the channels list and then clicking Delete.

Tips & Warnings

  • A shortcut to get to the channels is to click on the satellite dish icon on your desktop.
  • You can choose whether to subscribe to a channel or not when you choose it.
  • You can still view it even it you don't subscribe to it.
  • You can choose to be notified by e-mail when there is an update to a channel, or you can choose to have it automatically downloaded to your computer so you can view it offline.
  • You can set up a time for the download to occur.
