Organize a Clothes Swap Meet

Having a clothes swap is a throw back from the potluck office dinners. Pot luck office dinners occurred when all the people in the office would bring their favorite meals from home and share with other office workers. Clothes Swap work in the same way except you are using clothes in a sharing atmosphere instead of food. Here are three steps on how a clothes swap work.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Step One: Make the clothes swap a community event like a community yard sale. Send out flyers or phone neighbors to let them know that the neighborhood is having a clothes swap. Tell them that they only need to bring clothes and the size, color or type of clothes do not matter. Tell them to keep their other yard sale items for the community yard sales. Most of the time, garage sale goers will drive and not stop if they see a lot of clothes for sales. But if the clothes is the event, you will get additional garage sale goers and be able to swap clothes with your neighbors.

  2. Step 2

Step Two: Place sign advertising the clothes swap at major intersections. Be sure to advertise that the attendees are invited to bring clothes of their own as there will be on money exchange. The process of clothes swapping is to exchange a piece of clothing for another piece of clothing. If they want to swap clothes, the attendees must bring clothes in which to swap. Put on the signs that this is a money free event and the admittance is an exchange of clothing for another.

  3. Step 3

Step Three: After the clothes swap meet, donate the remaining clothes of a local charity. If there are plans for a subsequent clothes swap meet, the clothes can be retained until that time. However, the admittance to the swap meet must be an exchange of one piece of clothing for another. Children’s clothes can be bartered for two pieces of clothing for one piece of adult clothing dependant upon the inventory of what is brought to the swap meet to be traded.
