Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Softball
  1. Step 1

Assuming you’re right handed – See your target in front of you. Turn your left side towards your target, with your left hand pointing at your target. Pointing with your left will help your aim.

  2. Step 2

Cock your right throwing arm behind your head.

  3. Step 3

Step forward with your right leg; bring it past and in front of your left leg, ending with your formerly back right leg in front of your left leg.

  4. Step 4

At the same time, your right arm should follow with your right leg. Release the ball with a flick of your wrist, releasing the ball in mid flick. Your throwing arm should keep moving after release of the ball until you slap your left thigh.

  5. Step 5

Try this several times until you can coordinate all this movement in a smooth fluid movement. Keep practicing until the movement is down, then practice on speed, aim and accuracy.

  6. Step 6

Make sure you keep your eye on the target at all times.

  7. Step 7

Play softball for school sports teams or check with the Parks and Recreation Center locally and sign up for playing softball for your local team.
