Keeping your dogs ears clean of excess wax and debris is very important.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

The first thing you need to do is eliminate corn, wheat and soy from your dog's diet, please see my article "How to get rid of hot spots and itchy skin on my dog", for further details and information on food.

  2. Step 2

Next I want you to purchase apple cider vinegar, your local grocery should have what you need, make sure it is apple cider and not distilled vinegar.

  3. Step 3

Dilute the vinegar half and half with warm water. Put this solution into a dropper bottle that will be used to administer the solution into your dog's ears.

  4. Step 4

Every time your dog goes swimming or has a bath squirt about 2 teaspoons in each ear. Clean your dog's ears 2 times a week with this solution. You may want to do this outside on in the garage because some debris will be released from your dogs ears. Keep cleaning and you will see results.

  5. Step 5

Keeping your dog's ears clean is an important factor that will contribute to good health in your dog. It will help reduce scratching of the head and eyes as well. You will also notice less of an offensive smell emanating from your dog's ears.

on 9/22/2009 Thank you! I actually do what you recommend when I go diving (helps to prevent ear infections), but I never thought that it would help my dog as well.
