Things You'll Need:
- Computer
- Internet
-
Step 1
Online Dating LoveAvoid online dating sites and members only sites. If the title includes "Free Online Dating" or "Free online speed dating games" stay away. Online dating services are where you tend to find serious online daters, or as I like to call them "career online daters". These are people that probably log on every day to check their dating profiles on the 20 different sites they belong and have been doing so for years. They have a lot of experience dating online and normally will want to pretty much have an internet relationship before they ever agree to meet you.
-
Step 2
Online Dating ClassifiedsSearch Craigslist and other online classifieds that have romance or dating sections. These are where people list that usually have no experience in online dating and are willing to dive right in. "Oh your bored? Me too! Let's meet up tonight and hang out." It's often as simple as that. How online dating should be. Just two people going out on a blind date. After all, you can usually tell whether you like someone within the first 5 seconds, so why waste months emailing someone if it's not going to work out in the long run.
-
Step 3
Posting An Online Dating AdPost an ad on Craigslist. Now by posting an ad you will have a lot more luck than replying to hundreds of posts. When you reply to a post you are jumping in the same boat as 100 different people. An online post will get hundreds of replies so the poster is able to be a lot more picky. Where as posting an add, you can have someone reply to it that only replied to two other ads. So basically you only have one other competitor. This will greatly increase your chances of getting an online date fast.
-
Step 4
Profession Online DaterSo say your that guy or girl that does sit there and reply to personal ad after personal ad hopelessly searching for companionship while watching "Sleepless In Seattle". Try to sound normal when responding to ads. You don't want to sound desperate or like you do this for a living. Keep it short and simple and be real. Don't include your looks, aspirations in life, or favorite movie. The goal is to make the exchange of words just as simple as it would be in real life.
-
Step 5
Great PictureDon't send a picture right away. People judge you way to much on your looks. The wrong picture can immediately end a conversation. Instead let them get to your wit and demeanor a little bit before sending them a pic. Some people are also just not photogenic.

on 9/19/2009 Good advice -- the online dating sites can burn up a lot of unproductive time. Write a how-to for women who want to meet and date decent guys online.
