There's no better way then to dress up your table during the holiday seasons, than with a table runner.

Follow this simple instructions to designing, cutting, and sewing your very own holiday table runner.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Measure the length of your table and decide upon a suitable length for your table runner. Will it lay across the middle or hang down over the edges?

  2. Step 2

    Choose a fabric that compliments your home decor and theme of the holiday. For example velvets for christmas, rich fall colors and leave prints for Thanksgiving, or elegant swirls.

  3. Step 3

    Add one inch to your measurement and cut fabric to length. Then cut your fabric 14" wide.

  4. Step 4

    Fold your fabric in half lengthwise. Cut each to a 45 degree angle.

  5. Step 5

    Wrong side up, fold in 1/2" then another 1/2" on top of it so the raw edge is not showing. Hold in place with pins and stitch completely around table runner.

  6. Step 6

    Stitch tassels on each point of your table runner and your finished!!

Tips & Warnings
  • Add decorative trims to your table runner.
  • Make more than one for the different seasons.
  • You can make your runner reversible by stitching two different fabrics, wrong sides together, for convenient changing of pattern.
  • If you are not sewing inclined, glue a decorative trim along edges of runner instead stitching around it.
