How to Make Leather Crafts: Braided Bracelets
Braiding is the process of interlacing three or more strands of a flexible material to create a pretty interwoven pattern. Store-bought leather braided bracelets can be costly, but you can create your own stylish bracelet at home for a fraction of the price. It is possible to braid three strands of leather cord using the same basic technique that is used to braid hair. All the materials required to make a leather bracelet can be purchased from craft stores or on-line retailers.
Instructions

1
Measure the circumference of your wrist. Cut three equal pieces of leather cord that are each three times the circumference of your wrist.
-
2
Align the tops of the three leather cord strands. Tie a single knot approximately 2 inches below the top of the strands. Pull the ends of the strand firmly to ensure the knot is secure.

3
Open the safety pin and insert the pin through the center of the knot. Attach the safety pin to the cushion and place the cushion onto your lap. The safety pin will temporarily hold the strands and make them easier to braid.
-
4
Separate the three strands so that they are lying vertically parallel to one another. Lift the strand on the left over the middle strand. Lift the strand on the right over the middle strand. Repeat this braiding technique, pulling each strand with an equal amount of pressure, until you have braided the desired length of bracelet.

Tie the bottom of the braid in a single knot. Remove the safety pin from the knot. Tie the bracelet around the wrist and trim off any excess leather cord with the scissors.
